I'm not saying people are wrong in disliking this performance. I agree this isn't his best, however this is what happens when the emotions come through when he songs. This is one of his more personal songs reflecting his childhood and the people the made him who he is. To the people that commented that it seems hes trying not to cry, thats exactly why.
Daughtry will always remain one of my favorite bands, I see nothing wrong with this performance and can feel the emotions being channeled

Another thing is that this song reflects his childhood, so in some parts u can see him trying to hide the tears, thats also at some points why his voice cracks
