Gulf Coast Ecosystem Task Farce Public Breakout Session

This public comment dialogue session went from 6-8pm on a day that started at 8am. Lisa Jackson and all but 1 of the the Task Force members decided not to attend, decided not to hear the input of the people after tell folks all day how this was going to be a ground up approach and the people knowledge and expertise was needed.

This is from the 2nd meeting of the Presidential executive order created Gulf Coast Ecosystem Restoration Task Force Held Feb 28th 2011. This will be distributed very raw CSpan style. After Mardi Gras I'll have time to put it in context with a short wrap up video.

@FluxRostrum Thanks for clarifying the timeframe. I should've also asked for the date the conference was held. We can assume the conf. was at the start of the month, but you posted the clip March 3rd and I assume the clip, here, wasn't made within a day or two. Maybe the event occurred one, two or three months earlier and maybe the video says the date, but I'm not getting video image, only getting sound at Youtube for the past several days. Embedded videos are okay, but only sound at Youtube.

@mikecorbeil it was Feb 28th 2011. If you google your sound problem you be able to fix it. I've had those issues to.

Took a while before adding this reply, but thanks, and I finally did get the problem that was occurring at Youtube corrected. I don't recall what the correction involved, but it was a simple modification that I had to make.

@kjcsinger Right, let's fight over a wild bird (AKA - HANK) that is probably slowly starving to death so that everyone can have the upper hand & say "me first".

After 10 years I am duped to even think it is possible for Americans to want to partner with an initiative that isn't run by their government that most Americans don't even believe in anymore. Half your country is getting ready for a implosion, while the other half keeps doing business as usual. It's been like this for years.

Has anyone stood outside the door at one of these meetings and gotten a list of all the attendees? There seems to be so many different NGO's all doing their own things. Their power when unified would be substantial. Put aside all the bickering and self-interest and come together. My two cents.

Ask yourselves, if you were all black would you get the same government play as a group of well meaning whites with their hands out?

You can't have it both ways. Either slave/prison labor is politically correct for classism to continue to exist, or (political) majorities shouldn't try to eat the cake when they don't want to make the investment around reversing poverty, rather than feeding into it so that people can profit off the misery of others.

Most know they have a problem with institutional racism that disenfranchises the poor & namely blacks, so if you know this why settle for the status quo when it suits your needs?
