@Cossworthe well, I've caught them in the same areas where I and many people hunt, so I believe your the stupid one and don't know anything of what your talking about.

@flamedrag18, you may be stupid, the "fool hen" is simply ignorant. Grouse that live far from man don't fear man. Once grouse have been around humans for awhile they "learn" we are predators and quickly grow to fear us and then you can't get near them.

@moranriley No tame grouse. Reason I got it on vid was because I told friends about it and no one believed. Fool bird never left the area for quite some time. looks like allot of people have had the same experience on u tube. Must be something with the birds territory? Wish I knew.

@cosmokramer804 Thought about tying to catch and keep it for the kids but actually figured it was protecting a nest or something so didn't want to. Still cutting wood in the same area and have yet to run into another bird like this. My dog won't even get that close to a running chainsaw.

This female ruffed grouse wants you to mate with her in a strange sort of way. The chain saw sounds to her like the drumming of a male ruffed grouse. You have put her in the mood by running your chain saw. You have triggered an innate, instinctual, response in her.

@Cossworthe Maybe. That could of been the same as why it would swoop down on me while traveling through the woods with the ATV. Weird anyways.
