Don't miss EMILY CARR: WINDS OF HEAVEN as part of Bravo!'s GREAT CANADIAN BIOS. This film will have it's world television premier on Bravo! on Sunday, January 30 at 7:30 pm ET and will repeat on Saturday, February 5 at 6:30 pm ET.

A lyrical, luminescent and entertaining impression of the life of Emily Carr and her connection to the First Nations people of the Northwest coast of British Columbia. With a fluid camera and intimate musical score Winds of Heaven, brings a sense of movement, grace and energy to brooding mystery and inner beauty of Emily Carr's paintings.

"That is the artistry of the film," says Robert Fontaine, film critic for CBC Radio, "it makes visible to us that most invisible of qualities, the spirit that moves the artist."

  • This is no doubt the best film on any artist that I have ever seen. The narration is nothing short of brilliant, creating the eerie sensation that Carr is in the room with you.BUT, I have something to relate that horrifies me. The Knowledge Network in BC showed a truncated version of the film with 40% of it edited out. This is like cutting the leg off an animal and wondering why it bleeds. DO NOT GIVE THEM MONEY - NOTHING! DO NOT SUPPORT HYPOCRITES WHO MUTILATE AND DESTROY CANADIAN ART!
