@coolaidkiller101 Well, for this video I used some incense sticks as I didn't have a fog machine at the time the vid was recorded.
-
@skaiii do you now any cheap alternative to fog because,Im really a school kid,and cant just ask my parents to buy me a fogger or hazer, plus i live in the UK where dry ice is rare and internet only

Who would give a thumbs down for this, they must have had a very bad day.(@skaii Great job...wish I had one). Peace.
-
@skaiii so if i just brought a 5mw greenie and set up a galvenometer will i need fog to see the scan,(cant afford smoke machine or dry ice in uk)
-
@JaiNobesIsARat You are right, CNC lasers require between ~10W to several kilowatts depending on their application :)
-
@coolaidkiller101 Even a <5mW laser has the potential of causing blindness if you stare into it long enough. Lasers with power exceeding 5mW should be treated with the greatest respect due to their potential. I've seen beam shots with low power lasers (~1mW HeNe) which looked awesome, so it's definitely possible to create nice looking effects even with a 5mW with fog applied.

@TecnoVirtu Alright, i exaggerated a little. But my point was that you could acheive wild and varying diffraction with a much simpler set-up than an X\Y scanner. And, i did say drawing.
Hold on... they're used for cutting? But how? Don't CNC lasers use a several Watt CO2 laser which is physically moved rather than being "scanned"?
can u put up a tutorial of how u made that? and about how much u spent?
