It's a long story. These dogs are very similar to a cane corso, they are from the Napolitan country and are called
Cane da presa (cane a' presa in dialect).
They haven't a standard and are very rare today. The Cane Corso has at least 5 sub-regional races and all of them descended from the same ancestors, the old Roman Molossian.

It isn't. It is a Cane da presa. In Italian "cane" means only "dog".
