In November 2006, New York writer Colin Beavan, his wife and their two-year-old daughter began a year-long experiment. They would live without electricity, use no fossil fuel-driven transport and buy almost nothing new except locally grown food. The idea was to live carbon-free. The ups-and-downs of their dramatic change in lifestyle are detailed in the documentary "No Impact Man," released commercially September 11. VOA'S Rosanne Skirble reports.
