If Laos wants to move forward it must install a democratic government where the people have voices. Lao people are too stupid to run the country, let the Hmong do, they have many doctors, money since 1975 and they can rebuild Laos rapidly.

The old govt didnt have much opportunity to develop their country because of war. First they had to think of how to defend their country, finaly in 1974 they droped their weapons signed an agreement for peace & brought in the communists, but just like loogkaoneo said, It wasnt enough for communists, they wanted it all. Thats why lots of laotians exiled, some got jailed for life for no reason. We tryed to forget the past, but we cant argue about old & current govt over & over again it wont end.

Flankly, both sides of Laos loved their country but each side got their own problem despite their patriatism. Actually the old government was almost completely munipulated and run by Westerners and the new government lacked the resources to get the country move forward faster. I don't see why Laotions can't be proud of their independent. At least the current government has the country for over 30 years withouth any major war breakout or power take over as opposed to their counterpart before 75.

i agree with you to some extend and most part but if the current govt really want to built the country and prosper like other SE countries they absolutely can with all the aids they've got and two power dams and gold mine also new copper mine up north. i can go on and on about the monies but, where all the monies goes? thanks for comment

Thank you for sharing, This song here go way back. I miss my friends and my home land. It is what is it! F^@king communist never win. Ask somebody, watch TV, listen to the radio,read a books,do something. This is 2011 and 2012 is around the corner if i'm not dreaming. How long would is take for a small LAO country to be somebody.
