The Virginia Sesquicentennial Commission presents "Virginia in the Civil War: A Sesquicentennial Remembrance" documentary. The documentary was produced in conjunction with the Virginia Center for Civil war Studies and Blue Ridge PBS, with the guidance of Civil War scholar James I. Robertson, Jr. Primarily for classroom use, the DVD is split into nine 20-minute segments. This third chapter, "The Common Soldier," discusses the lives of Union and Confederate soldiers in Virginia.
