It must be a thrill to watch from the bridge as you navigate through storms. I was all set to become a seafarer but decided I could not be away from my girlfriend for too long.... 34 years later we are still together, so I guess it was the right decision, even though it is a great job well worth doing. Stay safe!

I'm a mate on a (bit larger) ship myself. And i can tell you that the fear is not the rudder but what will happend if he spill oil.

I guess for the captain it felt pretty important. But hey, they did what they could. It's not like those ship collisions in an open-sea-in-broad-daylight type of vids. How do they do THAT?!
