I have just uploaded a W B Yeats poem called The Hosts of the Air. In it there is a line: 'Never was piping so sad and never was piping so gay'. This probably accounts for the title of the tune. I too am learning the mandolin and appreciate your playing of this tune. Thanks for posting.
