Soda Can Crush and De-Crush Trick

This is how we did this:

We poked a tiny hole in the bottom of the can and emptied the soda. We put a small amount of water in the can. We heated the can with a torch to boil the water and put a piece of tape over our hole in the can to seal it. As the steam cooled, it collapsed (around 1600 times its volume) and the can crushed under the vacuum. This took quite a bit of time and we had to compress the video to speed it up. Dipping the can in water would have greatly increased the condensing-rate of the steam, but because it was just air-cooling it look longer.
Then we re-heated the can to bring it back to an almost-normal shape.

@DarkRedStar1 The can crushing has been done quite a bit where you heat up the can and then dip it in water, I don't know if anyone has tried to heat it back up to re-inflate the can. It was sort of an afterthought actually, to try it!

I've seen this done on TV with an oil drum. After heating and sealing, they doused it with water hoses and the collapse was extremely violent!
