OMG. Things hadn`t changed much in the 60`s @ "Proper" schools..Like what I had the misfortune to go to. There was smog...in the Chemistry Lab, anyway. The Master used to chainsmoke Player`s Navy Cut ciggies in the store cupboard during the lesson. and we used to pour acid an other chemicals down the sinks . Can you imagine a class of 14 year olds left alone with bottles of Concentrated Nitric, and Sulphuric acid (on the benches) Nowadays ?! and a Kipps apparatus in the corner of the lab.

@alisonsdragonfly .... Living an awful life, being raped, beaten, not wanted. Eventually you will kill yourself, and the whole world will go 'thank god!'. You are a whore like your mother. A SLUT. A bitch. Toot toot dragonfly, good bye, toot toot dragonfly, dont cry.

@alisonsdragonfly And who are you? Have you even read my comments. I dont even remember posting one here. Ive read all your comments, you nasty bitch. Your picture, it makes you look a slut. You ARE a slut. I feel sorry for you, you probably get molested by your own fathers drinking mates. Your fathers an alcaholic who beats you and only got married because your mother got pregnant at the age of 11. So you pretend to be all big on the internet, behind a mask of clearisil, but really you are....

A typical BBC Establishment take on the idea of a British (public) school life. My school didn't have a head porter or dressed like a ponce from the 19th century. My school was sandwiched between the railway marshalling yards, the abattoir and the carpet factory and my old man never rang the school to find out how I was as he was mining coal two miles across the canal.

When I was a kid our vicar said that the illustrator for Billy Bunter was in the congregation of the church. this impressed me no end. I think he referred to C H Chapman who illustrated comics and lived near- we were just north of Reading.

I remember there was a cartoon series made for the BBC in the 80's/90's, I think ,that was never shown as it was a political no-no in retrospect. Does anyone know of this series ?
er.....yes the quality was far more inferior in those days - but you also have to remember., these are probably really bad quality kinescope recordings that have been copied 4 or 5 times to be posted here on youtube.
Its original broadcast looked much better than this
