It's time for an avid user of web 2.0 to debate Andrew Keen. I prospose a live town-hall style debate in New York City between the of us.

  • Barack Obama's use of the internet showed that the Cult of the Amateur is myth. It was internet donations that lead to his victory.

  • Andrew Keen's book kicks ass. It's convenient to join the youtube supporters and ignore keen, but it takes a great deal more of strength and respect for truth to acknowledge how much the internet and cyberlife has compromised America's rich artistic heritage. The future of art is at stake, and it's being hijacked by YOutube.

  • Although I respect everyone's opinion, it's difficult to find any factual eveidence supporting your statement. The Internet has definitely fueled communication amongst ordinary people. However, people forget that great writers, artist and musicians require decades to home their works. I can list a slew of critically acclaimed works that were recently completed. This post is much too short to list them all.

  • Good luck, guys like Andrew Keen need a nice dose of reality.

  • I saw him last night on The Colbert Report. This guy is nuts. I would like to give him a dose of reality. I want to debate this guy so bad. However, he lacks the intellectual will to face me in public!

  • Thanks. To date, neither Mr. Keen nor his agents have responded. If you're watching this Andrew, it's time that we talk.

  • there is bountiful factual evidence. But one not need rely only on the facts, which again, are innumerable. Just "feel" what's going on around you- how the relationship of people to art and music has changed, and not in the favor of the arts. Our dominant attention is turning away from beauty and toward something else. The shift is palpable, we have assumed a paradigm shift with the digital revolution, and for better or worse, we are entering a very brave, new, world.
