  • I was lucky enough to see the Clash play the 83 US Festival, Micks last show.I was 16 or 17. When the Clash ll played in the bay area in 84, I saw them play+got to ask Joe a question during a radio interview. I sounded like a dumb nervous kid, but I managed to sneak in a couple extra questions about Mick. I was so nervous I couldn't remember how to speak! Almost. The interview was pretty entertaining and full of 'Joe-isms'.It was on the '94.9 Quake' in S.F. I think I have it on a drive somewhere.

  • @leannewoodfull I like it! I wouldn't if he were still alive. But now Joe's gone forever, it's a great sign of respect+love, that most people just won't 'get'...Joe was the coolest. In 1989 I got a Clash tattoo with the Clash written inside a star, in front of a circle, with stripes out the sides...like the t-shirt joe wore in the 'Radio Clash' video. Of course the dude fucked it up and the lines aren't straight. I should've gotten the Clash written in the 'font' from the first album...Clash!

  • @calboy64 CLASHISM! Well said!

  • @leannewoodfull great stuff ,,,i take my hat off to you ..respect

  • @mikentosh your words ring true my friend,,,,,,great comment,,i also am afflicted with CLASHISM,,,,luv em to this day,and very proud of what they achieved,,,not just musically but,,the feeling of pride they installed in you....still miss them

  • Fuck Cusack+Depp! Who the fuck cares what some hollywood douchebags have 2 say. Is their opinion any more valid or interesting than the average Clash Fan-atic? Of course not! It pains me greatly to see these movie-star A-holes even mentioning my favorite band. They can have U2 and the rest. I could care less. The Clash belonged to the fans, and they knew it. There was never a band that treated the fans so well. They knew we're all just average Joes!

Joe was the best friend I never got to meet....

  • @woodbell67 No

  • I dont think Joe Strummer would in the end like his face tatooed on someone's flesh. That's just me but I think he would prefer you to pick up a guitar. Write a cartoon or create something that has a sense of the iconoclast that he was.

  • One of the best lyricists I know of. Know any better ?

  • I'm getting Joe's portrait tattooed on me in a few weeks. He, and The Clash mean the entire world to me.
