@Thorralf83 Before a mission every shuttle crew is trained for their mission, their training is extensive and long. each shuttle crew's training begins years before their scheduled flight. to familiarize the crew with their task, hardware and mission objectives they get inside an exact mock up of the shuttle crew quarters in Huston Texas. there they practice what they'll be doing during the course of the mission. a typical training day lasts as much as a normal work day or longer.

I've enjoyed Mike Massimino's behind the scenes videos! About the "pumpkin suits", are they custom fitted for individual sizes, male/female, and tasks? Must always have help in putting on...how long does it take?

Thank you so very much for making / posting these!

Also, did anyone ever happen to post Dr. Massimino's "interviews" from shuttle/station that were downlinked and shown on NASA TV? If not, I think people would enjoy those just as much!

If only my parents took me seriously when I was 5, pretending to travel space and land on the moon...maybe I'd be putting that G-suit on today!

Keep posting the behind-the-scenes stuff! I love it! I particularly love the White Room close out!

they use them to bailout if there is an issue after the shuttle slows below Mach 1, only a few minutes till landing.
