Pretty Alita Naughton and Sandor Eles from Ken Russell's French Dressing are featured in the last moments of Ken Russell's acclaimed portrayal of the famous dancer Isadora Duncan

Quality is poor, this clip was sourced from a bootleg VHS-rip.

This title and clip remains property of BBC and is available to buy (in the USA) on a BBC America release - 'Ken Russell at the BBC'. Hopefully a UK release will turn up soon.

This short clip is strictly for archival educational or historical research and not for commercial use.

  • Merci!I have the BBC America release dvd of Ken Russell's masterpieces biographies...and it is as good as "Women in love" or "the Devils"."Dante's inferno" about Dante Gabriel Rossetti's tumultous life with Oliver Reed is superb...Ken Russell is a Giant.

Maybe an highlight with Vanessa Redgrave in the forgotten "Isadora" (1968) directed by Karel Reisz?

  • Heya, I haven't seen any content from the BBC America exclusive release... how would you rate the quality of video and audio of Isadora compared to this horrible VHS rip?

    Regards

  • @SlapheadMedia As at least one other person has mentioned, the DVDs are gorgeous: crisp, perfect, without flaw.

  • i'd love to see the next scene where she is running through a field with hundreds of children, to the Ode to Joy (thats what I remember anyway)

  • Er, that's the divine Vivian Pickles as Isadora and Murray Melvin as the photographer

  • Sorry for the late answer, the American dvd Ken Russell box has a perfect image 10/10.If you can ,buy it!There is an interview with the Maestro too.

  • Merci,Ken Russell rules!

  • Merci ! Ken Russell BBC Omnibus biographies are masterpieces."Inferno's Dante" with Oliver Reed about the tumultous life of Dante Gabriel Rossetti is superb.

It will be great to post some "Isadora" directed by Karel Reisz with Vanessa Redgrave.
