Wal-Mart victory: Supreme Court blocks lawsuit

The Supreme Court threw out the class action, sexual discrimination lawsuit against Wal-Mart, saying the over 1.5 million plaintiffs were too varied to sue collectively. Rebecca Jarvis reports.

We're both making assumptions about this but even though I don't see any of them being able to win a case it doesn't mean the truth is that they're all lying. On paper with all the figures they are making the right decisions to make profits, not even realizing they are discriminating. Let's just do this...wait it out...see if Wal Mart makes any changes, or says anything to do with "in an effort..." That's all that really matters is they do make an effort and not ignore it.

There's plenty of women done having kids that aren't going to "hurt the economy" that are getting blind sided though. Just letting them know you're a mom will keep you from moving up because of the "potential" for emergency. But we can't just make it so women don't have a shot at using their skills. People going to notice the extra 5 cent per item markup? Some didn't have a case and ruined it for those who did, but probably more like a few thousand though.

I'm really surprised about this whole thing because I have always thought that women made great managers although I have not had the fondest memories of some of them. I would consider women for management in my business because they tend to take their jobs very seriously. I think there actually is an issue here perhaps discrimination because of possible maternity leave, etc. They aren't supposed to discriminate but everyone knows they do and so do a lot of businesses not just Wal Mart.
