  • This, by far, has been the best interpretation of the movement-- not too fast, not too slow. It truly conveys the melancholic mood of the composer.

  • None have touched this earth in such a way as Beethoven.

  • Elly is by far the best performer on Beethoven's. And this number is no exception. Straight forward and yet full of soul and feeling. just Great !!!

  • his music cam straight from God. Man I love his work--and Elly is awesome!

  • @McRocket Great interpretation. But check out Radu Lupu's which is slower still, and the slowest rendering there is that I know of, of the 2nd movement at approximately 7minutes. Lupu's may just be the best , the slow pace bringing out subtle nuances.

  • I've been listening to versions of this on YouToub by legendary pianists, up and coming youngsters and talented amateurs, but in my opinion this is clearly the best interpretation here.

  • The thing about playing at different speeds is that it can bring about different moods in the piece. This one's a lot more subtle and gentle. so it gives a nice warm feeling.

  • @evilcyclone6 Where, in your basement?

  • very emotional

  • I would have loved to watch her play this :)

  • Leave it to a woman to play this beautiful piece far better then any man, to me (that I have heard); and I am male. Too bad she was a Nazi, but a beautiful interpretation, imo.
