In this student-created mini--documentary, 6th grade students from Stonewall Middle School in Prince William County, VA, look at the impact the American Civil War had on civilian life in 1861, as citizens faced difficult decisions that changed their lives.

As part of the Journey Through Hallowed Ground's award-winning service-learning program called Of the Student, By the Student, For the Student, middle school students from Stonewall Middle School have created 6 mini movies from start to finish. They selected thier story lines based on source material, then wrote their scripts, shot the films, acted, directed, created costumes, produced the soundtracks and edited their films. Their movies offer a 6th graders unique perspective into life on and off the Manassas Battlefield during the American Civil War.
