The Bible is written in such a way that there are parts that are VERY intriguing to people.

The messages being cloaked considering the times they were written makes very good common sense to me. Sounds like your upset because it is not precisely written to your liking perhaps?

Do you have a problem understanding the teachings of Jesus or the book of proverbs? That is the basis so many organizations like Dale Carnegie for instance use for corporate management training in secular language.

The prophecies are cloaked precisely because people who choose not to study them tend to fulfill the very prophecies given giving more evidence to people who DO trust in God that God is truthful through the Bible.

That makes no sense at all. God wants to send a message to his people, but the message is cloaked. Come on. It`s like writing an instruction manuel for your car in ununderstandable jargon on purpose.= BS

And the common man can understand the prophecies.. they are very easy to understand, but like anything you have to read and study them. Take the prophecy of Daniel 2 for instance and the dream Nebuchadnezzar had. Very easy prophecy to understand yet so many world leaders who understood it (Like Napoleon and even Saddam Hussein with different prophetic statement for instance) tried to go against it and failed.

Those who WANT to do the will of God will understand enabled by God.

why is studying prophecies redundant? You'll have to understand for instance why many of the prophecies where written in symbolic language. God gave the prophets truthful yet hard to swallow messages to deliver to the people. And according to the Bible and Jesus' own words (and even His life) they killed most if not all the prophets. So the messages are cloaked & he who has an ear let him ear while many will see & yet remain blind to the messages. Understand?

sleanos: The fact that you have to study to understand the prophecies renders them redundant. Weren`t the prophecies meant to inform the common man of what was coming ?

I agree. Which is why so many reject the prophecies of the Bible.. because they have not studied the exact data and timelines given in the bible through the sanctuary service/ feast days, and numerous timeline prophecies given in the book of Daniel and book of Revelation ...to name a few.

Prophecies without exact data, are little more then horoscopes.
