Nijinsky and mill reef are about equal. Mill reef only losing out to the best miler ever in brigadier Gerard and beaten once in a 2 y old race in France. Sea the stars reminds me of Nijinsky though in his relaxed manner.
The superlatives for Nijinsky are totally justified and to argue against that you are either biased beyond belief or don't know a thing about Horseracing. Or both!!!
Nijinsky was a phenomenon! simply unique and his Triple Crown will stay on his head for a long time yet!
See The Stars?? huh! Nijinsky did it long ago! and took the KG, Irish Derby, St.Leger and almost the Arc on top of it!
i agree regarding the triple crown as there is more a tendency to breed speedier types now butre danzig as a sire what about sadlers wells far and away the most prepotent sire in europe since st simon i know danehill shuttled to northern and southern hemisphere studs and would never knock him as a sire and sire of sires but sadlers wells record still speaks for itself and stands up to the closest scrutiny. i would say he is almost solely responsible for the success of coolmore stud europe anyway
I would stick my neck out and say there will not not be another Triple Crown winner! at least not in my lifetime. What Nijinsky acheived was phenomenal! It seems to me that Stamina and toughness is being bred out of o lot of our horses, look at the races Nijinsky contested in a single season! he was really tested! you don't see that these days because speed seems to be the main factor and horses seem brittle in comparison to the way they were bred end tried on the racecourse in days gone by!

@jmdm1957 Rubbish. Nijinsky the greatest racehorse in the past 40 years, Yes even above Dancing Brave and Sea The Stars. End of story...

I love the breeding of this line. My gelding is Nikinsky's grandson. He just looks super and has a wonderful temperament.
