i had a friend who broke our coarse record at the age of 14. the coarse record is 7 under par, unfortunatly he gave up golf. dont let your kid give up he could be a big star.... :)

The kid has a great move here's some unsolicited advice. He obviously has some natural ability tell him to hit it as hard as he can until he gets a little older. One thing that many of the great champions like Jack Nicklaus and Greg Norman as well as run of the mill tour players have in common is they learned to hit it a long way and worried about control further into their development. Keep it fun for him and he might get really good. gl

His swing is better than mine I bet...and I'm a 14 handicap.

That's the driving rage I go to! Rancho San Joaquin, right? (:
For some reason he thinks that hitting it straight is better than far. I've been trying to tell him over and over to let it rip but he keeps holding back to keep it down the middle. He does hit alot of fairways but you are right about letting it rip as far as he can! BTW he's 7 now and still plays but he's not that into it as much because now he likes video games, chess, baseball, martial arts and other kids. Thanks for your advice and I've read him your comment.

Thank you for your words of wisdom, he has been suffering from too many distractions video games, baseball and new friends. It would be a big shame and thanks for the encouragement to not let him give up golf!
