That's why you have constitutions, ideally. So the mob can't fuck things up. Look at Iran. People get killed if they mess with religious law. @harlequin2262 Yes, but if over 80% of a country want the "law of God" for their goverment than I have to say it is demogratic, also if the people have the dtermination of themselves they will not accept those who use religion for their own interests... For me a religios state could exist like we saw in the middleages were Muslims led the world in science,economy,human rights etc. but the problem is that for 400 years people killing or harm every human who wants Islam as his syst

I know. Religion can be a source of great hope, it can be a source of great good. But there will always been those who will twist a religion for power, or to suit their own ends. That's why I think it's not wise to have a country governed by it. Perhaps inspired by it, for example, my country (Australia) forbids theft and murder, just like the Bible and Koran does.

But there have been too many abuses of religion throughout history for me to trust it with too much power.

@harlequin2262 If there are people who do bad things to childs or women or any other civilian I'm sad about it and if I could( if I'm in the situation) I would do something against that, but just if this bad people say it is in the name of God doesn't mean that God or religion is bad, because my religion teached me that you should never hurt someone else and in war you should never hurt a civilian.

Which I'm sure is very comforting, but that's not falsifiable. Either there IS a plan, and the bad stuff is for a reason, or their isn't a plan, and the bad stuff is happening anyway. Same proof either way. It's just that one way has us telling ourselves that it's not all bad, and all the horrible things that we're doing because of religion are alright. Muslims are people that follow Islam. And by all accounts, they actually practised the tenants of their faith. You know, peace, wisdom, and all that. Spain was a pretty nice place all things considered, one of the good places of the middle ages. Far cry from the middle east these days. Incidently, the birthplace of Islam is basically the playground of everyone else these days. God's done very little to stop that. And it looks like we're gearing up to crush Iran soonish.
