My Supercharged S10 Xtreme doing a burnout. The truck was a 99 S10 regular cab stepside Xtreme with a Powerdyne supercharger. The truck was all stock with the supercharger and it was a BLAST! I bought the truck new March 1999 when the Xtreme was first release by Chevy, I bought the Powerdyne supercharger kit for the 4.3L V6 for around $2300. My buddy and I installed it at about 30k miles. I drove it for another 45k miles, went through 2 pullys and 3 serpentine belts (I drove the truck daily), removed the supercharger, traded the truck in on a new one at 75k, and sold the supercharger on eBay for $1600. Best $700 I ever spent! This video was taken around 1999-2000 during the Great Lakes Syclone, Typhoon, Xtreme gathering.

  • The SS had a HO engine, the Xtreme was just appearance. You could order an Xtreme with a 4 cyl if you wanted.

  • @TyCloneSS You could get any S10 with the "HO" engine, its all just a matter of the options you get. The only difference is that with the SS it was a factory option whereas every other S10 its an upgrade. My 99 Xtreme has the "HO" motor. I say "HO" because its only a matter of 5-10 hp and torque. Dont really see the point in calling it an HO...

  • @99LSDyme Not entirely true. In 1995 you could get the L35 CPI "HO" engine in any truck as long as it was an automatic. The 5 speed manual trans meant you had to get the LB4 TBI engine.

  • Well I supercharged that truck back in 2000. I paid $2300 for a bolt on supercharger and drove the truck for 45,000 then unbolted the supercharger, sold it on ebay for $1800 and sold the truck. Cant say any of that with a V8! I have a V8 S10 as well. ALOT more money and ALOT more work. But much cooler.

  • The supercharger was a Powerdyne. For what I wanted it was awesome. There were a few flaws in the kit, but for what I saved from not getting a Vortech, I loved it.

  • They make bigger cams for the 4.3. Not to mention, the 4.3 is basically a 350 with 2 cylinders missing. If you have it bored .030 over, any .030 over pistons for a 350 will work. I've also heard they make performance heads for a 4.3.

  • great burnout

  • Too bad it can't turn

  • where can you buy the supercharger kit

  • @TyCloneSS Oh, well i was referring to the 1996+ SCPI engines. Sorry must have misunderstood the years you were talking about. I really dont know much about the pre 96 S10's.

  • @ariel4more they do makje a few heads, but none have been shown to flow much more than the stock heads with a little machine work for the lift (to my knowledge) GM did release a "bowtie" head, which is basically an aluminum vortec head if i'm not mistaken.

  • @TyCloneSS i had a 95 s10 with a 327 in it.... you're so right when you say ALOT more work lol seemed mine was like a Harley, work on it all week to ride it on the weekend lmao
