6000 miles is pretty good. I am lucky to get 3000 miles out of set of tires.

That is normal for heavy braking. The harder the constand braking on asphault the more the wear will be to the front of the knobs...

they all go like that,mine had cupping at 1000 km.
i just kept on driving and now have 4000km. on it

That's the front wheel, not the back wheel. 3000 is about average for a rear tire on the KLR
