6000 miles and the tire looks like this. Almost brand new on 50% of the tire and the rest worn to the max.

I suspect it was not totally round. The tire was mounted perfectly.

  • That's the front wheel, not the back wheel. 3000 is about average for a rear tire on the KLR

  • 6000 miles is pretty good. I am lucky to get 3000 miles out of set of tires. 

  • That is normal for heavy braking. The harder the constand braking on asphault the more the wear will be to the front of the knobs...

  • they all go like that,mine had cupping at 1000 km.

    i just kept on driving and now have 4000km. on it
