Nov 29, 2009 - 1:30 p.m.- Pat Mackenzie and Kim Doherty fly the world's first true processor based "Fly-by-Wire" control line model airplane. There is no pushrod between the bellcrank and the elevator.
Note that this is not just a pot controling a servo. We are processing the signal from the bellcrank and "interpreting" it to provide the correct control or power response dependent on a number of factors. The response speed is as linear as a "normal" control line system. We can have expo, end point control, gain etc. for each control surface and between control surfaces. Other sensors input "G" load and positional information. It is essentialy an electronic trimming kit.
