  • I, a white American, taught in West Africa for nearly 5 years, and fell in love with Africa. The play Ipi Ntombi was so popular in Britain in the late 70s. It is such a celebration of the African spirit. Woza! Bayete!

  • I grew up listening to this! cant express how much joy these songs give me

  • I love this!!

  • Margaret is the only one who can sing these songs!! I wish other people would not try and sing them because they ruin the songs!! RIP MARGARET SINGANA!!!

  • one of the best songs ever written, I love everything about South Africa, the music, the people, and the culture, as a young kid growing up in Nigeria, I remember watching Ipi tombi perform at the Festac 77 in Lagos Nigeria (1977), they stole the show, together with Miriam Makeba, RIP Margaret Singana, and Miriam Makeba.

  • @irenecbcn Many Moons ago??? ja we all know....

  • Just as She could do this song is great thx for adding it

  • I saw that show in '74 in London. In 1976-77 I worked in South Africa for my studies for 3 months near Tzaneen than I went back to Europe. After finishing my studies I moved to South Africa because this continent goes into your blood and you can not get it out.

  • I can remember ice skating to this at the Kings Beach Ice rink in Port Elizabeth as a child..>Good memories.

  • Thx for letting us share - in the seventies I saw the musical three times in London and once in Haarlem - couldn't get enough :-)

  • This was classic.Vintage IPI NTOMBI
