Lady Audley in the novel is far more delicate girl. She has very innocent features, blond hair, and this is a very important point in the book.

I haven't seen the film, it is expensive to get hold of for some reason (in UK) but I have read the book and it really is a great sensational novel, its got everything, tradegy, romance, mystery and suspense, a few parts are a bit slow but its worth the journey of twists and turns to the end :)
