Krensharpaw and anoniab, you are both very sure of your opposing views. Please do not fight over this. I too, and set in my view, that Global Warming is a myth. None of us will change the other's opionon, so just accept that we all agree to disagree. Besides,

"if the temp of the world does go up"

There is no temp "of the world". Temps are local. A temp of 90 in NY doesn't thaw ice at the N pole if it's 0 there. You can take the temp in a room and it will not be uniform due to height/drafts, etc.

A volcano spewing lava into the air/water is drastically going to affect the temp in that area, but it doesn't reflect a change in global climate. All weather is local; the average is irrelevant. All it takes is 1 xtreme day to drastically change the avg

anoniab, I was tlaking about global. You really need to look this up. If it happens, then all the ice in the caps will be gone and many species and people would die because of it.

Also, global temps do matter, the reason they talk about average temps is because when the "average" goes up, they begen to see stuff. Its known as studying things. So, really look up the effects if the temp of the world does go up by 5.

No. And if the temp goes up by 5 degrees this winter from 0 to 5 above will actually lower my 'carbon footprint'. It will not have an affect on what happens this summer. Average temps don't affect anything. The only temps that matter are actual.

Also anoniab, there will always be cold temps. but when you look though out the world, its alrdy starting to happen, even if ppl want to put there heads into the sand. Look up how much carbon is being put into the air. Its alot more then you are accounting for. Also, global averages do melt stuff. Your local temps have goen up a bit, wheich can change much around the world.

Are you aware that if it goes up by 5, the world will look much different?

anoniab, have you seen how much Co2 is being put into the atmosphere? Its alot, now that can raise the temp and cause things to melt. If you look at things like the melting of the ice, you cant account it all to volcanic activity, because if it was doing it all, then the temp is still going up. Either way you look at it though, its still a good idea to stop fucking with the earth. Are you only calling them alarmist's, based on the idea you dont care?

Antartica's melting because of volcanic activity, not Co2. "Global averages" don't melt anything. Temps are local. Also, you should know that they lost a lot of weather stations in the late 80's in Siberia. How about the alarmist's take into account those cold temps that haven't been being reported since then? What would that do to the "global average"?

ok for one global warming will not do that. plz look it up if you are goin to talk about it. it is about the plant changing as in forests becoming deserts. Also the ice caps are melting faster to the point to where in 50 years they will be gone. Umm for the way of life we have now ummm this will change everyhting. We came into being around a real cool time but this is proven to happen by nature BUT we are makign it happen faster.
