  • @subarumom I would also like to note that I teach in a "at risk" charter school where behavior problems are our biggest challenge. Therefore, more control of the classroom is required due to this issue. I do hope you look at other videos I have posted and you will see the progression in the classroom throughout the year! Have a blessed day!

  • This is not control...this is called engaging the students in an effective way. There is nothing worse than a bunch of disengaged kids and you have to be a teacher to understand that. It's not so easy to be a good engaging teacher and experience is key. Seems you got loads of experience in kindergarten. Thanks I liked the power teaching :-)

  • You forgot the "t" in "Meeting".

  • Simply amazing! I just became ur fan:) Can u also tell us how many days has it been since u began and brought them to this stage...?

  • You are amazing!

  • i love some of the comments made, such as "kiss your brain" & "class.....oh yea". also, when a student did not know an answer the whole class responded in "thats cool".

  • I'm impressed, but why are they all shouting? Is it just because the video camera is on or is this what they always do? It would be very difficult for a student with sensory issues, or just any child who likes quiet, or me who likes quiet!

  • I think this is AMAZING! I also teach at an at-risk school with many behavior issues. Therefore, this video to me is something I would love to aim towards. These are children that thrive off of structure and this is clearly engaging as all the kiddos are participating! I can't wait to watch your other videos! Thank you for sharing!!! Do you have any videos that show the process of you teaching this routine to the class. I would be very interested in it!

  • @KinderTeacherRise Agreed, unfortunately at most schools teachers don't need this most control...at my charter school the kids are BOUNCING off the walls!!! If I can get my kids to behave half as well this year I'll be ecstatic! Nice! I bet it's nice to get to teach during the day!

  • This is great. I begin student teaching in a couple of weeks and I have never seen ALL children in a classroom participate in calendar time so attentively and enthusiastically.

    Wonderful job.
