Random Act of Culture at Northwest School of the Arts - Opera Carolina

On Monday, October 10, three performers from Opera Carolina surprised students at Northwest School of the Arts in Charlotte, N.C. during their lunch break.

The performance is one of 1,000 Random Acts of Culture taking place nationally over the next three years, funded by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and implemented locally by the Arts & Science Council. Knight Foundation's Random Acts of Culture bring artists out of the performance halls and into the streets and our everyday lives. For more videos and information, visit RandomActsofCulture.org.

people on streets behave more respectful. keep the acts out there. kids are kids. and I am surprised that was an art school.

@icarusAB It was definitely a raucous group - which was expected in that setting - but it was an enjoyable experience for the singers and all involved. This was a great opportunity to expose students to opera and not surprisingly there was a lot of interest and questions after each performance throughout the lunch periods.

Most of us were laughing at the beggining cuz we didnt know wat was going on at first. Then my friend got up cuz he was trying to figure out if she was really singing or not but actually everyone was smiling and impressed and we were talking about it the rest of the day
