Small turbo

Suburu (Fuji heavy industries) Has been making diesels for many years, just not for passenger cars, I hope they get these into production and in the US market. This engine sounds great, and I'm sure the torque will be incredible. After driving a 1.3L turbodiesel SEAT around in england earlier this year, I was very impressed with what it could do, and more impressed with it's nearly 60 MPG! Bring it on, Suburu!

YES! now all i need to do is find a way to get one sent to the US and mount it in my 93 legacy. (no emissions testing for my year car here!!!) what the insurance dosn't know wont hurt em')
(hope it will fit XD)

Please sell cars which use the engine !

I want the internals for my petrol suby. extra strong diesel stuff FTW!
-
Why isn't this available in the USA?
-
They say its the same size, maybe even a tad smaller then the gas one!

@buhrietoe in most/all petrol applications...but most or all diesles in tractors, trucks (semi's) earth moving power generators and such there is no wastegate... the turbo is sized to what boost/power is wanted in the engine and to its opperating RPM and also with diesel's leaning them out just makes them have less power and run colder to make power fuel is added not air....the throttle on most diesel's is on the diesel injection pump.
-
two small VNT turbos, one on each bank. They would respond and boost much better then a waste gated turbo. With common rail injection, the tuning potential is huge.
-
Shit the turbo must be close to the ground hanging at the bottom of the engine.
Well...an impreza with a good diesel would
suit me.170bhp+50 mpg + 4x4 would be enough,
I don't care if it looks like something your
granny might drive.Love Subaru!

A wastegate IS required to limit boost and keep the turbo in a more efficient operating range.
