able, to make the system function with its limited requirements. I suspect IBM, Microsoft, Apple, and majority of these companies didn't have a plan, nor architects. Nor youtube and many more companies. You don't necessarily need more employees to build a competant system. Just people who are not fascist and will get the job done to adequately facilitate any improvements required.

that the building doesn't just waste time like youtube does with video responses. So it's important for IT specialists to construct a system like this so it can adequately function to allow people not to have such annoyances in their life, like posting two posts to make up one. It's about systems construction and it takes smart thinking in the first place to accommodate the full requirement of the system in the end. Sometimes this takes a whole new system, sometimes its just adopting whats avai

I totally agree. But the idea there is a plan, just wrong terminology. A company needs a system. And the system needs to be adequate for the business. In traditional sense. The system has been considered a network of operating systems, and the programmers have to still work around that. It's a funny cartoon, but I don't think people will really get an outline from it. An adequate business manager is needed, someone who is just not in it for cash and going to help the workers out so ...

Software architects are actually computer jerks who dreamed of being building architects. Unfortunately they didn't make it to Architecture school. They just wanna uplift their lowly trade so they are using the professional title architect.

@studiob57 i agree that its not architecture but i totally disagree that its electronic engineering. they see the big picture and want it to work a certain way. after blowing TONS of money it still doesnt work? and then the "project it scrapped" saying "oh well?" I think these over-titled people should be held responsible for blowing the money. US has the laws but US corporations dont follow the laws. hmm there is a thought...

... Architects in the information technology sense are responsible for planning or creating an idea or solution (see number 2 in comment below). In the world we live in today some IT implementations are so vast and complex that I’m pretty certain that they could rival most building projects when it comes to complexities and intricacies.

The Oxford dictionary defines the word architect as:
1. A person whose job is designing buildings, etc.
2. A person who is responsible for planning or creating an idea, an event or a situation
Now to all those building architects who feel threatened by other professionals in wholly different industries/environments using the word architect in their professional title, please feel free to read the dictionary! Some of your comments seem to lack any clear sign of a professional education.

what the heck is a software architect? are computer programmers trying to market themselves by changing their names?
I agree, I have a degree and and a license that lets me call myself an architect. Architects design buildings not software. Why don't you call yourselves software doctors?
