Hi folks, this is my entry for the guitar rig hero contest.
basically, i'm kind of a nerd, and i enjoy a lot every chance i get to loop something.
Having dealt with cubase automations for a long time, i thought it would have been quite interesting to use the cubase automations to control this awesome plugin.
as you can hear, I've automated the program changes and the looping machine record/play button. and I loved it so much that I felt a real urge to show this to the whole world. and i bet I will soon try to use these automations live.

anyhow, let's talk about gear: i used my trusty Peavey TL-Six bass, which is the epitome of the high-end but lo-fi bass guitar. gotta love it. i plugged it directly in a terratec 24 fw audio interface. I recorded the whole thing in a single take with Cubase SX 2. and, obviously, Guitar Rig 3 was constantly switched on. drums provided by EZ drummer.

i had some troubles trying to sync things up. but I really hope you will enjoy the video anyway. and, please, if you like it, don't forget to rate!

edit: I definitely must say that i'm not really well experienced as a video editor, but the youtube conversion worsened it even more.

edit # 2: yes, I love synth sounds.

edit # 3: best listened to in high quality. plenty of stereo sounds simply get squeezed in youtube's mono output.

  • you are really good my friend. you should put up a tutorial to explain how to make loops in real time with guitar rig. peace

  • nice idea. i'll go hard at doing that. anyhow, before i do anything, let me tell you that, weirdly enough, real time looping is surprisingly easy with GR3. obviously, focusing on timing and rhythm is a good habit, and helps a lot whenever you happen to loop something, but apart from that i'm pretty sure that you'll find the looping machine very easy to use. they're the perfect example of idiot-proof tools.
