Explains that some have problems in school, need money, are socially isolated and wish to assume an adult role. This excellent 1962 film showed reasons why teenagers dropped out, why many of the schools failed such students, and how schools could be effective in helping such youngsters. Both parts 1 & 2(which make up the complete film)should be watched for continuity. Today, many strives have been made in public education (including the GED programs, but there is still a problem of dropouts- made worse when financial shortage takes away programs and services. Do schools kill creativity? If creativity was a person schools would be it's concentration camp! I think that young people are going through a creativity holocaust perpetrated by teachers especially ones who hate their jobs. Everyone who agrees this is a disgusting inconvenient truth give me a thumbs up. BTW I'm only twenty years old and I understand this.

I had a good friend who dropped out. It sucks. He was REALLY smart he just wasn't a good student. A lot of kids who drop out just aren't good students. The true dumbasses usually join the football team.

@74u73hjd It's crazy, the whole schooling system , it completely crushes any creativity and sucks the spirit out of you , the only thing that's keeping me in high school ( 11th ) is well ...i can't really think of any reason ,any consequences from dropping out that would stop me in my stride of creative , revolutionary , and life grasping inspiration. I know instinctively that my life will end in an all around more fulfilled and even beautiful way if i take a stand against the conforming system.

it was a tripp because me and 4 of my friends that dropped out with me were labeled "druggies" and "losers" because we smoked weed and didnt buy into that joining the military shyt they tried to push us to do....

i dropped out of school on 2005 when i was 17 because the schools in my area wer a FUCKIN TRIPP!!! they would have pep rallies twice a week where the armed forces would come and how would i say it....talk or try to "sugarcoat" joining the military so i was like FUCK THAT.....its sad because MOST of kids i grew up with bought into that bullshit and some died in iraq/afganistan and most are not all their (the ones that made it back from the war)
