When are you coming to the Olympic Peninsula? See the beauty from snow-capped, glacier-carved mountains to the jigsaw puzzle like shores of the pristine Pacific Ocean beaches. In between are alpine meadows, temperate rain forests, abundant waterfalls and plenty of outdoor excitement for the entire family. When are YOU visiting? • You bet! The Pacific Ocean has some good waves and surf. We kayak year round on the Strait of Juan de Fuca, finding some nice calm water depending on the wind and tides. Puget Sound and Hood Canal can often be flat and glassy. They also can whip up a white-capped surface. Depends on the weather, tides, current, wind. Always gorgeous!

  • The fall scene at about 1:16 is the Elwha River. This is the river that is having two dams removed this summer to help restore the legendary salmon runs.

  • Where is the area it shows in fall, around 1:12? That is GORGEOUS! Beautiful job!

  • Is the water any calmer in Puget Sound than the rest of Washington's coastline?

  • To 15slan: At .36 you're looking at Dungeness Spit, so it's not actually a lake--it's part of the Strait of Juan de Fuca. You'll love it here in the area--there's so much natural beauty to see. Check out our b&b if you don't have reservations already - Sea Cliff Gardens Bed & Breakfast.

  • I Loe the lake which you can see at 0.36 which lake is this ? We are visiting this area next summer 2011 and I am looking forward to it more when I watch this video. Keep on posting please.
