As defined, a pilgrimage is a journey or search of great moral or spiritual significance. Serving as a team leader for yesterday's Sullivan 8th Grade Pilgrimage, I can attest that these young women and men experienced just such a journey and search yesterday. What a wonderful and unique group of students and friends these young women and men are to and for one another...
Following the wonderful and selfless feat of helping to raise over $10,000 to benefit Little Flower School in Minot, which was destroyed by flood waters, they proceeded to march/walk/skip/run as a class from: Holy Spirit Church to the St. Paul Newman Center to St. Mary's Cathedral to St. Anthony's Church to Nativity Church to Sts. Anne & Joachim Church... approximately 10 miles of a very spirited pilgrimage. Along with praying a rosary at each location and celebrating Mass at St. Anthony's Church, they also cheered on and inspired local drivers and pedestrians. As one of the signs that they carried throughout the pilgrimage proudly stated, "Honk If You Love Jesus!"
Many of these young women and men came into the Shanley Homecoming Weekend as tired soles, but satisfied souls. Join us for a few moments along the miles of this pilgrimage.
