Note: I made this video when I first got my Nokia N82, and it came with Maps 1. Nokia has released Maps 2.0 since then, and they're set to release version 3, so this video's a little outdated.

A quick run-through of the settings and options available for Nokia Maps on Nokia smartphones. Incredibly versatile and easy to use, and requires no active internet connection. Perfect for someone like me who gets lost easily :)

I ordered yesterday the Nokia E75.

Can I use Nokia Maps for free all over the World?

I live in Germany and will study from March 2010 for one semester in the States.

Can I use Nokia maps without audio instructions for free in both areas?

thanx a lot for your vid!

  • no you CAN use internet to make it faster though but you dont have to

  • so if i used a sony ericsson w760i with its gps would i need internet for that?..............normally, when its not nokia map and u have gps on a celll phone does it require internet to get a satellite signal?

  • Okay, thanks for the replies, most grateful. Have fun and enjoy your phone, mine is incoming in a few days/weeks (I hope :]).

  • It can take me anywhere from 15 to 30 seconds to get a satellite lock-on when I'm standing still, and it can take up to a minute or so depending on conditions. A-GPS usually cuts down that time to 5-10 seconds from what I've heard.

Our data plans are pretty horrible in Canada, so I don't have one, but I don't find the wait times inconvenient :)
