Crisis and Command with John Yoo

John Yoo is a Professor of Law at the University of California at Berkley and a visiting scholar at the American Enterprise Institute. From 2001 to 2003 he served as Deputy Assistant Attorney General in the Office of Legal Council in the Justice Department of President George W. Bush. Professor Yoo is the author of a number of books, most recently of Crisis and Command: A History of Executive Power, From George Washington to George W. Bush.

he's smart, that's for sure. even if you think he's evil, you don't get to be that evil by being stupid. so I think we can settle here that he's smart. that said, his argument doesn't take into consideration of politics in realities. he's kinda like the kind that espouses that if the laws say so, you get to do it if it tells you to do it or agree to do it.

law is just a representation of politics. and politics is inherently fluid and amoral. it's silly to attach moral to law.

Yes people should watch this and understand that if you agree with what he says then Congress has the constitutional DUTY try, convict, and sentence and execute said sentence on Yoo and you who side wiht him. The constitution does not codify states of MIND like 'security'. It is SPECIFIC in the powers it bestows. Nothing is implied. To him Checks and Balances are an obstacle toward declaring war on civilians.

When those powers are clearly manipulated to acheve a goal by decepttion the use of those powers are treason. He says there has been no declaration of war since 1945 yet the Bush administration used war powers through government power to cause a war on sex in America that today is still bankrupting the nation. Look at California where sex laws have their roots and the state is now bankrupt.
