thanks for the kind words. what's funny is that we weren't trying to be preachy. all of us drink, and the two big location scores happened to be watering holes. We actually wrote the story around the bar and liquer store even though 90% of the movie takes place in the house.
I'm glad you liked what we were doing. From what I can see, it's a bit more ambitious than other fest entries, so all things considered I think it turned out pretty well. Not great, and certainly flawed, but there are elements that work, and it sounds like you picked up on what we were trying to do.
Thought it was very effective. The story and title was interesting. The acting great, too. Loved the camera work. It had movement without being jarring. The beginning had nice smooth motions and then later it sped up with the frantic pass of the story. I liked the silhouettes.
i had to rewatch to see what you were talking about. If you look carefully, I skipped the Rule of Thirds for something that could be called the Rule of Quarters. That particular shot was taped to be edited in a series of jump cuts to work as a sort of zoom where teh protag gets slammed by teh reality of the kill once he wakes up.
