Frank Zappa with Pink Floyd ♫ Interstellar overdrive
.
Belgium "Festival Actuel" october 25, 1969
.

The first participation of artists in concerts outside of Pink Floyd is found in Amougies Actuel Festival, Belgium, October 25, 1969, when Frank Zappa joined the band in performance of the song Interstellar Overdrive, a new version of about twenty minutes .
.
Due to the increasing complexity of the music of Pink Floyd over the years many musicians are hired to play concerts in what had been recorded in the studio with the utmost fidelity.
.
The beginning of these investments is reflected in the tour Atom Heart Mother, when the suite is the same name played with the aid of a full orchestra and choir. Given the costliness of a tour with a similar amount of musicians, then the number of shift workers is still low: in 1973 he was hired the saxophonist Dick Parry, who also participates in the subsequent tour, except those of The Wall and A Momentary Lapse of Reason , which is replaced by Scott Page.
Animals in the tour Snowy White was hired as a guitarist, and appears in the "surrogate band" that opens the concerts of The Wall, along with Peter Wood, Willie Wilson and Andy Bown. In A Momentary Lapse of Reason and Division Bell tour keyboardist Jon Carin is instead, Guy Pratt replaces Waters, Tim Renwick becomes the support guitarist and Gary Wallis on percussion.
.
Although some singers, including Clare Torry, Sam Brown, Durga McBroom and Carol Kenyon participate in these tours. In the Live 8 Finally, playing Tim Renwick, Jon Carin, Dick Parry and Carol Kenyon.

  • @surfguitar421 Zappa played thousands maybe tens of thousands of gigs in his life. Its entirely plausible he just forgot about it. Its either zappa or someone very similar in style, and zappas style is pretty damn unique.

  • talk about an amazing lineup for that festival. You got Pink Floyd along with Soft Machine, Gong, and the Art Ensemble of Chicago.

  • Zappa never played live with floyd, it was just a sound check, frank has said that a million times over, by 1973 i think he was just tired of telling everyone that so for fun i guess to make himself laff he would always say "I never played with them, dont even know them lol. Frank was funny that way - as for who is better- frank is better at being frank and david was better at being david.

  • it's not a concert.. it's a sound check. zappa was the festival producer and decided to do the sound check.

  • @surfguitar421 There is a famous picture of them playing together...search it on google images

  • I think I just SHIT MY PANTS!!!!!! Beyond amazing!!!!!! Whoever downloaded this for YouTube is officially AWESOME!!!!
