  • isnt the 'me' in shenme tone 5?

  • @yS2125 there no 't' sound in zi

  • @gymnastjewl101 if you are asking literally it means 'you call what name'

  • Where is the LEARNING CHINESE "4"? Thanks a lot, you rock, girl!

  • kelly i'm Dan i just call for the number you gave-me 02438247125 I try to reach you but the number is invalid sorry

  • Thank you for the lessons. The confusion is coming from the differences in formality and familiarity in conversation. If you were at a business meeting and had to ask a senior officer his family name you would not say either of those expressions. I do appreciate however that you are trying to keep the lessons simple. Thanks again.

  • lol well i dont say ni jiao shi me...i'd say ni jiao shenme.... but i dont know if there is a different...its in my book that way...but then again...my book had some things wrong and it had to be corrected...

lol i should just ask my chinese friend =D

  • my friend says that without the ming zi it might sound like What are you called? so hmmm i dont know if it's right but i guess if she says you can use it then just do say ni jiao shi me XD

  • hmm how weird... we were taught to always say ming zi if I would like to ask what's your name... oh well.. just follow your chinese teacher XD who am I anywayz :))
