The best way to reverse Bush's Texas-style "shoot first and ask questions later" policy is to openly and actively engage in dialog with countries and leaders around the world. Both those that are close allies, and those that we do not agree with all the time.

My mother always taught me to "never assume" and that problems are often needlessly caused by a lack of communication. These are simple lessons we can easily put into practice as a nation.

First of all, by being aware of the real outreach US foreign policy has in todays world. And secondly, by simply following the ideals of the well-educated Founding Fathers of the United States of America. Then the world would be a better place.

Well, I don't know much about "riffs". My dog riffs (and ruffs) at the Asain mailman, and I'm not sure how a new president could help heal that particular racial riffing issue... In all seriousness, though, I hope the new president reforms our stance on Isreal.

The main issue is that of Israel. The double standard that is US Policy towards Israel and the Palestinians is at the crux of the negative view of the Muslim world. It was Bob Marley that said that "until the philosophy that holds one race superior to another is abondoned, there is war." The collective punishment of the Palestinian people is a travesty and no US President will find a resolution without equal treatment to all in the region.
