This is part 2, if you don't know how to take your Xbox apart watch part 1.

What You'll Need:
Flathead Screwdriver
Needle Nose Pliers
T-10 & T-9 Wrenches
Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Paste (available at radio shack)
8 Washers
Heat Gun (not the same as a hair drier, but if you don't have one you could try a hair drier I suppose.

  • im try what you said iv already gotta new x box but i brought a prod x box it was working but went prod so im a watch your video again just to try out it on the prod x box wish me luck

  • @Familia00Mensaje The Xbox failed the other day. I'm going to put in a plastic washer along with the metal washer, to make a thicker and I'll see how that goes. So in addition to watching my video, I suggest watching a couple others just to get a combination of suggestions.

  • Great video. Please tell me, is the xbox still working to this day?

  • @TaxiToHell Yes it still works.

  • @TaxiToHell The Xbox failed the other day. I'm going to put in a thicker washer and see if that helps.

  • May I Ask What is the Point of the washers, Because they weren't there in the begging, So why did you add them now, And what about the use of plastic ones so they don't conduct anything. Thanks

  • @xXxS4v4g3xXx Washers hold the heat sinks tighter against the processors than originally designed, which is why the RROD happened in the first place. If you don't have good solid contact between the two the processor can't cool down. You can use plastic washers, I've seen them used. Just make sure the melting point of the washers is high enough. Otherwise they'll get thinner and thinner as well as retain heat. But you are right, plastic doesn't conduct so you have that going for you.

  • im not sure if buying a fan cooler that has three fans that sits on the back of the unit is gonna keep it cool might still buy one they dont cost much

  • im have to find some screws and plastic washers since thats all i need got everything else

  • @agentj3000 I would have thought so.. The Fat Xbox 360 is a very defect-sensible machine, and when it cracks there are no permanent fixes other than probably a very costly and rare professional reball and a very high-performance cooling system.

  • @agentj3000 I tried heatgunning today. Unfortunately it won't fix my RROD, and i believe it is a shorted out resistor. Error code 0031. If you have any information for me, please contact me. Thank you.

  • @agentj3000 Thank you for your reply, i'm going to apply the same procedure tomorrow. I had an E74 error , fixed by this but a month after i got RROD with fans running and shutting off in 1 second. I hope this will bring my xbox back to life, i'm thinking of doing a RGH on it if it stays permanent this time. Anyway , greatest heatgun video on youtube. I'll come back with more results, with your permission of course.
