The following training movement is designed to allow a student of Okicihitaw develop a good ability of balance during this movement while encompassing an effective control of striking. The forward motion is conducted by sliding forward with a great emphasis placed on the balls of the feet. During practice in the beginning, the activity is noted as robotic, however this feature and process allows the student to develop a proper structure of movement throughout a controlled activity.
Over time, this movement will become more fluid as the participant understands the kinetics and capabilities of their body type as it applies to the martial art of Okichitaw.
