In this episode of Culinary Secrets Chef Tomm Teaches you how to make hand pulled noodles by machine and by hand. This is the same DVD you will get in the hand pulled noodle kit. It's a tricky technique to learn and will take time to Master but hang in there and you will get it! You can find the recipes at my website www.ChefTomm.com

  • I've been trying to do this for some time now, but I can't even get the kneading done correctly. It never gets to that "smooth" stage where you can actually pull it. Going to try once more tomorrow.

  • @JaOrhoj It is tricky! It took me a long time to get it. I sell a noodle kit that comes with everything you need to make 2 batches of noodles. Sometimes it helps to work with this product because you know it will work. Let me know how it turns out. cheftomm com

  • @cheftomm I think I might have figured out what I have been doing wrong. I'll give it another shot tomorrow!

  • @JaOrhoj It takes some time. When I started there was no video on this. Let me know how it comes out.

  • @cheftomm I failed again. I can keep kneading for an hour and I never get to the point where it can be pulled. It is quite frustrating. It's not a 100% loss every time as I can roll it and cut out the noodles but that's not as interesting.

  • @JaOrhoj Where do you live? We need to figure this out. Are you following the recipe exactly?

  • @JaOrhoj I'm having the same problem. I'm using the recipe from your website Tom, and I spent about an hour and a half kneading and it wouldn't get to the pulling point.

  • .....loaded w/ chopped veggies within! My next project thanks to you is learning the art of noodle- pulling so that he will learn to eat soups! ( Because 'Po' eats and makes noodle soup in the movie.) Thank you on a job well done! Happy holidays and thank you again!!

  • Chef Tomm I really enjoyed your noodle pulling demos. I used to go to school at LeCordon Bleu and none of the chefs should the patience that you have in helping others perfect the culinary arts! Thank you so much for making your videos! I will definitely practice this art of noodle pulling. My son is a Kung-Fu Panda movie fan. And because he is such a picky eater cooking meals is a challenge. He inspired me to learn how to make boazi (dumplings) and he actually ate them loaded with chopped ve

  • @cheftomm I contacted you through Facebook.

  • Oh man.. I'm going to have to give this a try. I've got some asian based broth, green onions, fish balls, and no noodles in the house. Guess that's not a problem any more though. Look forward to the experience. A quick question - can these noodles be made a few days ahead and stored? Maybe dust them with a little flour to keep them from sticking and store in an airtight baggie in the fridge?
