hate to break it to you... but that's not gonna work. Some of these videos are actually funny and Funny + Prank + Dumb = Instant Viral! This will indeed only encourage this kind of thing. I would encourage the head of your web team to consider ceasing this effort. If this channel ever gets featured, it'll be all over ;)

Thank you for your comments. We ran a similar campaign back in 2003 and we saw a significant drop in misuse of the 999 line. Once the publication of these calls have served their purpose they will be removed.

I've never had to call 999, and I hope I never have to. But I must say, you all do the best you can, and I appreciate it.

It's sad that people misuse the service like this, but even worse that some people deliberately misuse it, as we all know it can cost lives.

They should have a new law stating that any misuse of 999 should have to face a temporary phone ban.

If it happens a second time, it should become permanent.

@ChaosDemon2 what happens when that person actually becomes involved in a life or death situation involving other people and they're the only person who can dial 999 but they are banned from using a telephone? the boy who cried wolf is a great fable that teaches kids not to lie but i don't think its message should be applied to situations in the real world.

The police have a web team to put together stuff like this? Gosh...talk about misguided funding.

By now someone will have ripped this from youtube to make their own video, so even when you have taken it down, someone will be posting it afresh under a slightly different title.
