Great composer, but i do like the music of Kalevi Aho even more. In my opinion Rautavaara is repeating it's self to much in the last decade.

I love the Tubin symphonies. So very thankful that Jarvi recorded them. It was great to have Jarvi bring some great Finnsh and Estonian music to Detroit while he was here.

Very moving music - an interesting follow up to Sibelius.
Rautavaara is a first rate orchestrator. His music has what I could describe as an oceanic flow. I'm keen to hear more.
