2010 0412 20:50 La Cabaña: "El Cañonazo de las Nueve" Ceremony

Soldiers dressed in 18th century uniforms in the Fortaleza de San Carlos de la Cabaña, commonly known simply as La Cabaña, fire a cannon over Havana bay at precisely 9pm each night for the centuries-old tradition of "El Cañonazo de las Nueve", a custom, kept from colonial times, signaling the closure of the city wall doors. They are accompanied by musicians of the band of the Centro Asturiano of Havana.
